The owners of this lovely 1970 home in Waratah St have restored this home back to its former glory. They employed Belco Homes for their renovation project as multi award winning Master Builders. Belco Homes contacted Authentic Finishing’s Ltd to insure only the best painting & decorating finish was possible for this character home.
This home has large Kitchen, Dining raking Sarking Ceiling with exposed beams & were an important factor in remaining with the character of this 1970’s home. The beams were originally stained and have been converted along with the Sarking to the colour Back White in Dulux Acrylic Kitchen & Bathroom Wash & Wear. This had to be achieved by using Zinsser Bin Shellac based sealer on the stained Beans. This sealer has very strong adhesion properties when wanting to convert a oil stain finish product to be paint finish coated in Acrylic, Oil base or any painting and decorating product you desire. We also Airless Sprayed coated the Ceiling in Resene Stain Lock Waterborne Stain Sealer to completely eliminate bleeding of the existing brown stain bleeding through. Then we applied a coat of Dulux Total Prep to give a high opacity undercoat before finishing coating with the Dulux Wash & Wear Kitchen & Bathroom with the Airless Sprayer.
The home was also blessed with Colonial Fibrous Plaster Cove with a mixer or square stop to the bathrooms & Ensuites. The existing Ceilings and Fibrous Plaster cove were originally paint finished coated Alkyd Enamel so the decision was made to Pigmented Oil based sealer the existing Cove & Ceilings to convert them to Acrylic Resene hi opacity Ceiling Flat.
Existing walls were striped of Wallpaper and then level five plaster finished to paint finish coat in Dulux Kitchen & Bathroom for hi washability after the appropriate sealers were first applied.
This lovely home is still in finishing stages and updated photos will be added the photo Gallery when is completed along with before and after photos to highlight this extensive painting & decorating project.Share
